The
members of the ACME Swing Co. have played the Bay Area for about
a year now, but don't be fooled. This group of hard swinging professionals
are no babes in the woods. With various members having played
with the likes of Tommy Dorsey, The New Morty Show, Benny Miller
and Lee Press-On, these seasoned swing veterans have proven themselves
to be a delight to see first hand. So strap on those suspenders
and shine your wing tips.... it's on baby!!

Local
retro outfit Acme Swing Co. personifies the '90s swing movement
-- young-timers in natty suits paying respect to old musical forms,
dislodging themselves from the time warp just often enough to
add gentle irony to the too current trend. Their original songs
stay true to the form but show the band's affinity for chronicling
history as it happens. ACME Swing Co. proves that, though some
young musicians act as if they've been swinging all their lives,
the smarter ones admit their first exposure to the stuff was through
Looney Tunes.

Singer-arranger
and frontman Tom Beyer, who has doubled as stand-up bassist for
the New Morty Show and who formerly played with the Nails and
Al "Jazzbeaux" Collins, has formed his second incarnation of Acme
Swing with lively new personnel. Sharply attired in zoot suits
and spectator shoes, this year-old seven-piece band have played
the Fillmore, Great American Music Hall, Bimbo's 365 Club, the
Larkspur Jazz Festival, as well as doing regular stints at the
Hi Ball lounge.

"Watching
the band form once again, it's now a better, unique, original
sound within the swing scene. The ACME Swing Co. are great guys
to work with, and one of the best latest up-and-coming bands from
the swing scene."

"Those
of you out there who are socially conscious to the swing scene...
Don't miss out on the high energy, full strength originals of
The ACME Swing Co. to deliver the nostalgic notes of that era
to your ear. With their rockin' originals and their high style
mobster-like attitudes... they make the performance a must see!!
Their sound will sweep you off your feet!"

The
ACME Swing Co.needed little introduction as to how to shake up
a dance hall at The Derby. Living proof that Sonoma State grads
can put their music degrees to profitable use, the seven alumni
recently taught LA swingers that those Bay Area cats have rhythm.
The zoot-suited players began their set with mellow pieces showcasing
their smooth sound and tight, stylish form. Spreading their name
like quickfire up and down the coast, The ACME Swing Co. have
a strong future ahead.
